FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Do I need a referral from my GP or Consultant? No, you do not need a referral to come to me. Children are often referred by medical and educational professionals but you as parents can contact me directly without a referral as well. Do you offer a "meet & greet" session? Yes, if you wish to meet me before entrusting your child to me for physiotherapy sessions I am happy to meet you at my practice room, show you around and answer questions you may wish to ask me. These sessions last for about 15 minutes and are free of charge. (They are NOT a first therapy session and do not include physiotherapy assessment or treatment). If your child wishes to meet me you may bring your child with you to the "meet & greet" session. Alternatively I offer an initial telephone conversation free of charge during which you may wish to outline your child's needs in complete confidentiality and without obligation. The "meet & greet" session does not commit either party in any way. Will my private medical insurance pay for your services? Your medical insurer can answer this question for you. A lot of insurers will pay for my services (although some might require a referral letter from your GP/paediatrician first). Please check with your insurer in case you can claim some or all of my fees back from them. Some insurers request to be invoiced directly and I am happy to do this if the insurer accepts my invoice directly. I am an AVIVA registered provider. Please call me for my AVIVA provider number to aid your insurance with approval of treatment sessions. Payment I work in private practice. Parents pay for the treatment after each session or at the end of each month for weekly attendance. Methods of payment are BACS (electronic banking), personal cheque or cash. Currently I have no credit card agreement. What do I do if my child is ill & I have to cancel? Just ring or text me as soon as you know you won’t make it to the appointment. The sooner I find out the better as I might be able to offer the appointment to another child who is waiting for one. This helps children to be seen at the earliest possible time. As long as you don’t cancel every other week I will not charge you for the missed session as I understand children can be well one minute and ill the next….(It is nice if parents don't abuse my kindness on this one though) What treatment times are available? I give priority to children in full time education for after school appointments. Young children (up to 5 at least) and children who tire easily are best seen during the earlier hours of the day to make the most of their energy levels. If you require a specific time for your child please call me & I will do my best to accommodate their needs if at all possible. |
