Gudrun Gilbert, MCSPABOUT ME
I was born & educated in Austria. I completed my physiotherapy studies at the Vienna University Clinics/Austria. I have worked in Paediatrics for almost all of my professional life - the past 30 years. During this time I have worked for a big NHS trust in London & worked at the renowned Cheyne Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy where I studied the Cheyne Approach to treating children with Cerebral Palsy. I then worked for the local NHS trust at King Edwards VII Hospital, Windsor & later also at the Child Development Centre, Upton Hospital, Slough in a community setting including a great number of schools around East Berkshire. I have completed full Neuro Developmental Therapy / Bobath Training and have in addition completed several advanced level Bobath/NDT training courses to further develop my skills in the field of paediatrics & NDT in particular. I have also completed special training to extend my practical skills as well as my theoretical knowledge in the wide fields of Paedatric Neurology, Neonatology, Orthopaedics & Musculo-Skeletal Conditions and Hydrotherapy/Aquatherapy (water based physiotherapy). I am continuously extending my treatment skills by expanding my knowledge into the field of Sensory Integration Therapy & Play therapy. In addition I have a diploma in Child Education & Child Development. I hold a full and up to date DBS (formerly called CRB) check certificate & up to date Paediatric First Aid Certificate. I have been very closely involved with the organisation of childbirth classes for the National Childbirth Trust for over ten years & have learned a great deal about pregnancy, childbirth & postnatal care during this period of work. I am also mum to four children. |
